A talk – or rather a rant – on ethics at STIMDI's World Usability Day evening in Stockholm on 10 November 2016, about the ethical responsibility of the people doing UX work. Two minutes after I stepped off stage I was awarded STIMDI's Grand Prize.

  • Given without slides on purpose: an experiment in how being fully present with the audience changes how the message lands. It felt personally exposing – and I felt more connected to everyone in the room.
  • Woven from stories: the labels we put on people (“users”), being the target of an online pile-on after an article titled “Search engine optimization is always ugly”, psychology and nudging, coaching, sustainability, the paradox of impact, change and freedom.
