Won SEB Innovation Awards in October 2012 – the bank's yearly award since 2010 for an idea that can develop customer experience in banking. My idea: “a robot friend that keeps track for you” – solve everyday money problems that cause stress, using information the bank already has.

  • Instead of a two-page essay, I sketched the idea as eight drawings on my iPad, and put a larger version behind a link on a newly registered domain to spark curiosity.
  • The concept: remove interfaces. A robot looks for patterns in payments, asks smart questions, warns before you overspend and shows simple diagrams – so the customer doesn't have to make an effort.
  • My own conclusion: it was the way the idea was presented, through visualization, that won – a little more than the idea itself.
